  • A sample image is available to view online via the Player and shows an example of the type of content found within Liber Horn providing evidence of its ownership by a fishmonger, Andrew Horn (a shield of arms, depicting a fish and the saltire cross of St Andrew, is attached to a stem of foliage in the right-hand border.)

    The volume is available only with advance notice and at the discretion of the LMA Director.

    A compilation of charters, statutes and customs made by Andrew Horn, sometime Chamberlain of the City, in 1311. It probably comprises two books bequeathed to the City by Horn in 1328, entitled respectively, De Veteribus Legibus Angliae and De Statutes Angliae. Fo. 205, opening of the second book. Contains a copy of the "Laws of Oleron" concerning the "judgments of the sea," c 1321-8, transcripts of Charters, Statutes, Grants, Customs, precedents, oaths, charters of companies and towns, Writs, etc. Written upon Vellum Norman French.
