London, England, Deaths and Burials, 1834-1934
Our collection of Death and Burial registers from Hampstead, Holborn, Islington, Lambeth, Poplar, Stepney, St Pancras, St Marylebone, Southwark, Wandsworth and Westminster Boards of Guardians, are now searchable by name on Ancestry.co.uk. They are separate registers recording deaths and burials from workhouses, however they may not necessarily include every death that would have been recorded in an Admission and Discharge or Creed register.
London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1834-1906
Our collection of Birth and Baptism registers from Holborn, Islington, Lambeth, Paddington, Poplar, Stepney, St Pancras, St Marylebone, Southwark, Wandsworth and Westminster Boards of Guardians, are now searchable by name on Ancestry.co.uk. They are separate registers recording Births and Baptisms from workhouses, however they may not necessarily include every birth that would have been recorded in an Admission and Discharge or Creed register
London, England, Poor Law Records, 1840-1938
This is a collection of digitised images from various poor law institutions maintained by the Hampstead, Holborn, Islington, Lambeth, Paddington, Poplar, Stepney, St Pancras, St Marylebone, Southwark, Wandsworth and Westminster Boards of Guardians. As yet these records have not been indexed, however you can currently browse these records by individual Board. This collection is not yet complete and does not include every workhouse admission and discharge and creed register from the above mentioned Boards of Guardians.

City of London Library Catalogue
The catalogue lists most of the items held in the City of London's libraries. It shows where items can be found and whether they are available for loan.
Before making a special journey, please contact the library concerned to confirm that what you want is available.

* What you have on loan, renew items and place reservations
* Whether you have any items awaiting collection
* Whether any charges are recorded as awaiting payment

The City of London Libraries, Archives and Guildhall Art Gallery is host to COLLAGE, an image database containing over 20,000 works of art from its collections. The database can be browsed from the above link or at the COLLAGE terminals at the City's Libraries, Guildhall Art Gallery or LMA.

Magnifying the Metropolis — Interactive Maps Microsite
We are in the process of digitising our more popular map collections especially the ones found on open access in the Information Area at LMA. This will provide greater and easier access to them.
The following maps are available to view on our maps microsite "Magnifying the Metropolis" from within the terminals at LMA. All of them have interactive controls allowing you to zoom into the maps in a way that has not been previously available at LMA. Some of the maps that are available include:
- LCC Bomb Damage Maps 1939-1945
- School Board for London Maps
- Parish Maps of London
- City of London Ward Maps
- Various Historical Maps of London including maps from Stanford's, J Cross, Reynolds and Langley & Belch

London Signatures — Online Wills
London Signatures, the essential service for family historians and anyone interested in the history of London and Londoners, has just got even bigger and better.
As well as the original index of 10,000 wills from the Archdeaconry Court of Middlesex, an additional 23,500 marriage bonds from the Commissary for the Archdeaconry of Surrey have been added to the index, which is searchable for free online. You can also purchase a digital copy of any will or marriage bond directly from the web, for just 4 GBP (around 7.90 US dollars)
